What is Massage?
There are many forms of massage ranging from a deep tissue massage or Swedish Massage to a light touch massage such as that used in aromatherapy treatments. It is a manual therapy whereby the therapist manipulates muscles and other soft tissues of the body to release tension and improve health and well-being. A variety of strokes are used such as stroking, kneading and other movements often performed with the application of massage oils or lotion. Massage is beneficial and influences the musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic and nervous system as well as benefiting the mind and body.
